Sir Kay

I may have used suggestive, or as others might say, manipulative, tactics in order to convince King Arthur that I should be the chosen knight to take Queen Guinevere to the foreign knight, Meleagant. The foreign knight said that the prisoners in the foreign knights land may become free and able to return to King Arthur's community (The Romance of Arthur, 2013, pp. 114-116). Even though I lost the fight with Meleagant, I believe that my mishap brought out some of Lancelot’s best qualities, like his courageous nature and talented fighting abilities.

I did not make a catastrophic mistake. I mean, my actions are nothing compared to the actions of the Japanese when they attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941. Nor were the results as unpredictable as the actions taken by President Kennedy and the Soviet Union during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1961. I know what the result would have been, even if I was not the one to triumph in battle, because the knights of King Arthur are superior to any in the land.

Now I will address the accusation that I, of all people, would share a bed with Queen Guinevere. As I stated at the time, and will always state against such ridiculous accusations, “I would rather be dead than to have committed such a base and blameworthy act against my lord” (The Romance of Arthur, 2013, p. 159). As I stressed in my first blog post, I will always be loyal to my foster brother and lord, King Arthur.

The facts of the situation have come to my attention. It was Lancelot who left the bloodstains on Queen Guinevere's bed sheets. I will never understand what possessed him to betray his lord. I feel it is my obligation to face Lancelot in a duel to right the wrong that he has committed towards my foster brother and lord. If I had my way, he would be killed or at the very least, maimed.

Lancelot, my feelings towards you are confused. On the one hand, you saved the life of our beloved Queen Guinevere and myself and rescued many prisoners; yet, on the other hand, you betrayed the one person I hold dearest. But as I will affirm once again, I will always remain loyal to King Arthur. Lancelot, you should be ashamed of your actions and I hope once Arthur finds out about your betrayal he allows me to carry out whatever punishment he deems sufficient.

Merlin

Greetings, Everyone! i am Merlin, the wizard extraordinaire and more importantly an adviser to the honorable King Arthur. I was originally the creation of Geoffrey of Monmouth, a combination of Welsh and British folklore, i would say that i am quite a cultural phenomenon! I am indeed responsible for the creation of the mythical Stonehenge, located in Wiltshire, England. In appearance, i may be old, but in spirit, i remain young and lustful over and beautiful lady i may come across, despite being tied down by marriage. I am a keeper of secret, and a communicator with those who can not communicate themselves. I hail from the town of Carmarthen. My father was a demon, and my mother was the daughter of the King of Demetia. I gained my magic through my relationship with the lord, and the demons to his opposition.

I have many values, but i truly appreciate honesty. I once built a fortress in Wales. It was not build on solid ground, because underneath lays a pool of water where two dragons live. I came forward to the king, expressing my concern about the dragons but he did not listen. The next day the dragons awoke and fought each other to the death.

I once had a brother, Aurelius Ambrosius, whom i cared for deeply, but when he was tragically poisoned i was forced to make the decision to declare Uther the new King of Britain. My greatest memory with my brother is taking large stones from Mount Killarus in Ireland, and forming a circle, now known as Stonehenge.

I have a very important relationship with the King. I am indeed responsible for his conception. I also fostered a young Arthur and in turn taught him the values and principles of life.

I, Merlin, am a man of much myth and folklore, but this, my story, is anything but that. I look forward to speaking again soon.

Take Care

Mordred

Greetings Friends, Enemies and Fair Maidens,

I am Mordred, as you all may know I am a known traitor of Camelot, my parents are Morgause (Arthur’s half-sister) and King Loth of Norway. Although some people believe that King Arthur is my uncle, others believe that is also my father as well. Arthur and my mother had committed acts of incest. However, they were unaware of their relation to each other at the time of the acts. As a result, Arthur tried to cover it up by having all the children born on the same day as me condemned away at sea. Although my boat crashed I was fortunate enough to survive and then I was found and raised by a man until I was fourteen.

I have a half-brother by the name of Gawain. When I got older I became a knight along-side Gawain. It seemed that none of the other knights liked me very much in fact I was under the impression that they tolerated me because Gawain was my half-brother. Truth be told I never cared for the other knights in fact I would mock them constantly and scorn them with little hesitation. I disliked being a knight and I found that I have a hatred for King Arthur.
I think that King Arthur is one of the most important people to me. Also, his wife and my queen Guinevere is beautiful, but she is known for her infidelity. Coincidentally the person that is most important to me is the person that I dislike the most. Arthur is king and Guinevere who I adore is his wife, both are things that I want yet I seemingly cannot obtain or have. I was shocked when I came to the realization that Lancelot was having an affair with Guinevere. I wanted him dead and then that would mean there is one less person between me and Guinevere. I proceeded to tell King Arthur so he can get rid of Lancelot himself.

However, an opportunity arose when Arthur placed me in command while he was away conquering territories. I came up with this brilliant idea that allows me to become king, but I would also get Guinevere to be my queen and my wife. I forged documents proclaiming that Arthur had died which made it fairly easy for me to come in and take over his thrown. Once the hard part was taken care of I proceeded to ask Guinevere to be my wife. She had said yes, but one night she had escaped and ran off.  Arthur returns from his adventures to see that I am in charge and that Guinevere has run off. It becomes evident that I am a traitor of Camelot and I am now an enemy.

Arthur and I finally meet on the battle field in the Battle of Camlan. It was only a matter of time before I were to face him and take what is mine. We battle back and forth, but he lands a fatal blow… Seeing everything turn white I think to myself that I am taking him down with me. I started to pull myself towards him and that was when I was able to land a fatal on King Athur himself.

I’ll mock and scorn you too!

Ysbaddaden the Giant

Greetings half-wits!

I am the Chief Giant, Ysbaddaden, son of Anlawdd. Some may know me as Hawthorn or Whitehorn. I reside in my great fort in which I cannot be harmed nor reached. It is the greatest fort in the land, the size of which none of you have ever known. Its walls are a hundred feet tall, its gate made of the strongest steel, and no man can escape the eyes of its tower guards. Breaching its walls is a task achievable by no mortal man. Even if you somehow got in, you would quickly be impaled by my deadly spears. Although I am growing old, I have many servants and guards to help me protect my fortress. They are my eyes outside of the fort, as gravity has taken a toll on my vision. My ever so quickly sagging eyelids blind me unless I am aided by my vision forks to prop them up.

Outside this grand fort of mine is my dull brother, Custennin. He herds sheep across the plains. What a lonesome job a shepherd is, his sheep are his only friends. The sheep and that witch wife of his. What a nag she is. In fact, such a nag, that I had to slay twenty three of her sons. While that may seem excessive, you must know that she really is a grumpy old hag. She and my brother had twenty four sons, all of which I would have slain, but the worst of them got away, Goreu. But, I have a feeling him and I will meet again someday.

I do not care much for my brother. I have invested all of it to my beautiful daughter Olwen. What a name Olwen is. You must love it. Why pick such a name you ask? Well il tell you. You see my daughter is so gentle and sweet that white flowers grow in her footprints, so I named her Olwen, which means "white footprint." Special, isnt it. The sad part is she would make a wonderful bride, but if a man should marry her, it is destined that I will perish. So she must remain single as long as I am her living guardian. No matter how badly that fool Culhwch would like to win her heart. For even if he wants to try to wed her, I will assign him a multitude of impossible tasks to accomplish that would take even a great man several lifetimes to complete.

Stay away from my daughter
