Mordred

Greetings Friends, Enemies and Fair Maidens,

I am Mordred, as you all may know I am a known traitor of Camelot, my parents are Morgause (Arthur’s half-sister) and King Loth of Norway. Although some people believe that King Arthur is my uncle, others believe that is also my father as well. Arthur and my mother had committed acts of incest. However, they were unaware of their relation to each other at the time of the acts. As a result, Arthur tried to cover it up by having all the children born on the same day as me condemned away at sea. Although my boat crashed I was fortunate enough to survive and then I was found and raised by a man until I was fourteen.

I have a half-brother by the name of Gawain. When I got older I became a knight along-side Gawain. It seemed that none of the other knights liked me very much in fact I was under the impression that they tolerated me because Gawain was my half-brother. Truth be told I never cared for the other knights in fact I would mock them constantly and scorn them with little hesitation. I disliked being a knight and I found that I have a hatred for King Arthur.
I think that King Arthur is one of the most important people to me. Also, his wife and my queen Guinevere is beautiful, but she is known for her infidelity. Coincidentally the person that is most important to me is the person that I dislike the most. Arthur is king and Guinevere who I adore is his wife, both are things that I want yet I seemingly cannot obtain or have. I was shocked when I came to the realization that Lancelot was having an affair with Guinevere. I wanted him dead and then that would mean there is one less person between me and Guinevere. I proceeded to tell King Arthur so he can get rid of Lancelot himself.

However, an opportunity arose when Arthur placed me in command while he was away conquering territories. I came up with this brilliant idea that allows me to become king, but I would also get Guinevere to be my queen and my wife. I forged documents proclaiming that Arthur had died which made it fairly easy for me to come in and take over his thrown. Once the hard part was taken care of I proceeded to ask Guinevere to be my wife. She had said yes, but one night she had escaped and ran off.  Arthur returns from his adventures to see that I am in charge and that Guinevere has run off. It becomes evident that I am a traitor of Camelot and I am now an enemy.

Arthur and I finally meet on the battle field in the Battle of Camlan. It was only a matter of time before I were to face him and take what is mine. We battle back and forth, but he lands a fatal blow… Seeing everything turn white I think to myself that I am taking him down with me. I started to pull myself towards him and that was when I was able to land a fatal on King Athur himself.

I’ll mock and scorn you too!
